Boston Ballroom® offers Private Dance Lessons, Social Dance Classes, Group Dance Classes, Wedding Dance Lessons, Choreographed Wedding and Anniversary Dances, Competitive Dance Training, Pro-Am & Am-Am Competitive Dance Competition in all styles, Dance Workshops, Live Performances, Children/Teen Ballroom and Latin Dance Training, and Examination Teacher Training in Standard Ballroom, American Smooth, American Rhythm, International Latin American and Social Dances.

The best way to start dancing is with an Introductory Private Dance Lesson (45 minutes) for $49 for singles or a couple. Our professional dedicated ballroom dance instructors will review your dance goals like Social Dancing, Competitive Ballroom & Latin Dance Training or Wedding First Dance and suggest a suitable dance program. 

We recommend comfortable clothing and shoes that allow for movement. Shoes with a smooth sole, such as dress shoes allow for easier movement. Please bring your dance shoes to change into at the studio especially during rainy or snowy days to keep the dance floors dry, free of slippery spots and debris. 

No! Prior dance experience is not necessary. Our classes are designed for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced dancers who want to have a fun experience learning to dance. 

Boston Ballroom studio policy requires at least 24 hours notice for any reschedule of private dance lessons. Private dance lessons canceled under 24 hours are charged a $30 cancellation fee versus loosing a paid lesson. 

All dance programs purchased either online or in studio cannot be canceled, Boston Ballroom has a no refund policy. Shop carefully.

Wedding couples typically start their first dance lessons 3-6 months prior to their wedding date. However, some couples start as early as a year before their wedding. It depends on your song choice and how awesome you want to dance for your wedding. 

Starting earlier than you think gives you both time to enjoy the dance lessons as a date night leading up to your wedding. Couples who want to be able to dance to multiple styles during their wedding celebration, besides their first dance and parent dances, usually start 6-9 months before their wedding date. Our best couples are finished with learning their first dance at least a month before the wedding. 

Unlike cramming and studying before a test, dance lessons are for your body and not your mind. The body needs time to build a habit of moving (body memory) and actually won't forget like the mind can. The more time you give yourself to learn to dance, your body will be comfortable and relaxed. If you wait to the last minute, you may feel stiff and awkward while moving under pressure. 

During every private dance lesson, videos are taken on your phone so you can study and  practice what you have learned. Starting early gives you the time to practice dancing and being your best self.

Your song choice(s) is an important part of your first dance process. Some couples choose a meaningful song, some combine songs to make a hybrid mashup, others have a band play their favorite song.

Yes! We love helping couples arrange the right music and length of music for their wedding. Music editing is complimentary with the purchase of 5 or more private dance lessons or a $75 music editing fee. Boston Ballroom® will ensure that your DJ or Band receives a clean music edit prior to your wedding.  

Awesome Idea! Our Boston Ballroom® dance instructors love to get creative working with couples on a surprise wedding dance that will leave your friends and family talking about your first dance for years! Give yourselves enough time to enjoy every lesson by starting at least 3-6 months in advance.

We recommend comfortable clothing and shoes that allow for movement. Most students come straight from work or have plans afterwards.  You may also dress up for your dance lesson and treat it as a date night!

Wearing your wedding shoes to practice in gives you the opportunity to see what feels the most comfortable. If you have special shoes you can always wear something similar to what you will wear for you wedding. Sneakers, crocs and flip flops are restrictive to dance in. You may always dance in socks. Men can wear dress shoes or office shoes and ladies can determine if they are wearing heels, flats or wedges. Great question! The amount of private dance lessons you need for your wedding dance depends on a few factors: your song choice, your level of ability and how awesome you want your first dance to be. After your introductory private dance lesson you will determine how many dance lessons you will need.
